From 22 to 26 June 2026, the SUSTAIN-IT consortium convened in Alba, Italy, for Expert Training 2, hosted by project partner APRO Formazione.
The five-day training brought together partners from Italy, Spain, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Rwanda to strengthen capacity in digital empowerment, environmental sustainability and innovative teaching practices. Through a combination of practical workshops, collaborative learning and knowledge exchange, participants explored the application of the Internet of Things (IoT), environmental monitoring systems, Arduino programming and affordable sensor technologies in education and sustainability.
A key focus of the training was the continued development of the SUSTAIN-IT Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), with partners contributing their expertise to enhance learning resources that will support Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Africa and Europe.
Beyond the technical sessions, the training fostered collaboration among consortium members, providing a valuable platform to exchange good practices, strengthen partnerships and align efforts towards the project’s shared objectives.
Expert Training 2 represents another important milestone in the SUSTAIN-IT project, reinforcing the consortium’s commitment to equipping TVET educators and learners with the green and digital competences needed to drive innovation, promote environmental sustainability and build a more resilient future.
