About Us

SUSTAIN-IT is an ERASMUS+ Capacity Building VET project co-funded by the European Commission to empower TVET Technical and Vocational Education and Training) teachers in Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Rwanda with the skills and tools to tackle climate change and inspire the next generation of innovators. By combining green education with digital technologies like IoT, Arduino, and sensor devices, we enable educators and learners to monitor the environment, identify local challenges, and develop impactful solutions.

SUSTAIN-IT aims to modernise Sub-Saharan African TVET centers, reduce youth dropout rates, and encourage more women into technical fields, transforming education into a powerful tool for climate action and sustainable development.

Our Mission

To empower educators through innovative teaching pedagogies (Challenge-Based Learning) and inclusive practices, ensuring they can inspire the next generation of climate leaders and change-makers. SUSTAIN-IT is committed to transforming education in Africa by equipping TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) teachers in Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Rwanda with cutting-edge skills and tools to address pressing global challenges.

Green meets Digital

We bridge the gap between green and digital education by providing teachers with the digital infrastructure and expertise needed to integrate environmental awareness into the classroom. By utilising digital tools such as IoT devices, Arduino technologies, and DIY sensor kits, we enable learners to monitor their environment, identify local challenges, and create impactful solutions to combat climate change.

Entrepreneurship

To champion social entrepreneurship, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving, we prepare students for high-demand careers through environmental monitoring, data analysis, IoT, and sensor technology. Together, we are paving the way for a greener, more inclusive future where education drives action against climate change and empowers communities across Africa.
